Closer 9AM Shotgun

Hello Manitou Men’s Club,

Here you will see the listings of Teams for the Season Closer event this Saturday. This is a SHOTGUN start at 9AM. Please arrive in plenty of time to get settled within the pro-shop. There is NO Horse Race for this event, but there are skins, plenty of proxies and payouts for the top finishing teams.

The event itself is a 4 man Net best ball, keep 2 of 4 net scores each hole. This is 85% of your handicap based on the format via the USGA. Any teams with 3 players will be given a blind draw partner at the scoring table after the event. Pretty straight forward deal and a pretty relaxing format to play with your groups. We will have Savoy Pizza for everyone when we finish the round. Pizza will come in waves, so be patient. King of Ridge horse race bets will be open during the day Saturday as well for Sunday’s event.

The other items to mention…Construction. There is quite a bit taking place at Manitou. Be cautious coming into and out of the parking lot. During play, #3 will be to the green on the right as has been the case. #5 will be a temporary green and #10 will also be a temporary green. We will let you know more info on how to proceed before we tee off. Any bunker that is under construction, a free drop outside of it, no nearer the hole. Just use common sense and try to avoid bad areas with equipment and construction with your carts.

King of The Ridge (Sunday 3pm) – We will have the live auction for KOR following the wrap up of the Closer event on Saturday. This is where you can buy a player and have a share in their winnings. You own the player you buy, but general courtesy is to offer the actual player up to half their team for half the price if they want. The plan is to auction players from #19 qualifier all the way to #1 and finish with the defending champion. **We are still trying to map out what holes we will play to try and avoid temporary greens or troublesome holes for players and patrons. We will try and have an email sent out tomorrow with more information on KOR. Members and fans are encouraged to come out and watch, but please pair up if you take a cart and ensure the players all have carts that need them first. We should be OK on that front.

Looking forward to a great weekend and excited for folks to see the changes taking place at The Ridge.
